Fiona Macdonald

Fiona joined Ferguson in October 2003 as a newly qualified solicitor, having studied music at Oxford University and taken a Masters in music at Liverpool University before converting to law.

After leaving Liverpool University, she took the opportunity to go abroad. She qualified as a teacher of English as a Foreign Language and worked in Prague and Madrid. After three years away, she returned to England, now speaking Spanish and a smattering of Czech, to begin training as a lawyer.

She passed the CPE conversion to law with a Commendation and the LPC with a Distinction, both at BPP law school, and then went on to complete her training at the City office of Dechert, a large international law firm.

Fiona manages to combine her work in employment law and litigation with her enduring passion for music. She sings regularly with the London Symphony Chorus at the Barbican and frequently acts as accompanist to singers at recitals.
